HOURS Directory | What are Ithaca Hours? | How can I participate?

Volunteer

Running a local currency system takes lots of work. If you believe in the mission of Ithaca Hours, consider offering a hand. There are many ways to join in, both long- and short-term:

Community Building:
We'd like to expand the Hours system to include more businesses, and we'd like to maintain closer contact with our current members who accept Hours. Volunteers can join in Retail Relations activities:

Advising members on ways to circulate the Hours they've earned; and
Encouraging new businesses to join the Hours system.

Growing the Local Currency Supply:
Join in the fun of giving out money by:

Publicizing the loan program among businesses and individuals;
Publicizing the grant program to community organizations; and
Reviewing grant and loan applications;
